Over the coming weeks, Jaclyn and Dave are developing indicative farm and land management plans across the islands, you will see them out and about, talking with farmers and land managers; and behind the scenes, they are busy preparing material for submission to DEFRA as part of the next stage of the programme.
Last month, we welcomed Natural England to Scilly to explore heathland management, grazing systems and approaches that are truly bespoke to the Islands’ unique environment. These conversations are helping to shape plans that balance ecological restoration with the realities of working farms.
